The foresight and generosity of Percival P. Baxter provided Maine citizens with the precious gift of Baxter State Park.  Eben Sypitkowski, Park Director, will present a look back at the creation and structure of the Park and its importance to Maine.  He will also discuss some of the challenges and issues currently facing Baxter State Park.

This presentation is free with your current PVSC membership. If you are a member of another senior college, email smksenior2020@gmail.com and leave your name, email, phone number, and the name of your college so the membership fee can be adjusted.

Presenter: EBEN SYPITKOWSKI, Park Director
Eben Sypitkowski is a 2005 graduate of Bates College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies. He received a Master’s Degree in Forestry (professional program) from the University of Maine in 2012. He worked as a Conservation Easement Coordinator for New England Forestry Foundation and began working as a resource manager in Baxter in 2014. He became Baxter State Park Director in 2018. Eben lives in Millinocket with his wife and two children.
