Sexuality in the Greco-Roman World Register View Cart

This course will focus on the long history of sexuality in the Greco-Roman world. The course will be composed of six lectures and we will travel throughout ancient Greece and the Roman world in order to better understand how sexuality and gender roles affected, and in many ways, altered, society.
Some of the topics that we will talk about include: the role of women, the Greek Hetairai, 
Marriage, Adultery, and many more.
*Note that this is a five-week course. It starts on March 26. There is no class on April 16th, due to Instrucotr conflict. This is a change from original information emailed out.

Instructor: Evangelos Zarkadas
Evan Zarkadas was born and raised in Greece. He moved with his family to United States in 2013, and his residence is in Rhode Island resident. In 2020, he received his degree from the University of Maine at Presque Isle in History and Political Science. Currently, he is a graduate student at the University of Maine pursuing his Master's degree in European History.
