Bioethical Issues Arising from the COVID-19 Pandemic, One-Day Zoom Event on Jan. 26, 2021 4:00-5:00 PM Register View Cart

Course Description:
Our lives have been transformed because of a virus.  PVSC has transitioned to all Zoom presentations, most of us are holed up in our homes communicating with friends and family through technology, and when/if we do venture out, we don’t recognize each other behind our masks.  COVID-19 has radically changed our world.  While most of us have been learning how to cope with these changes in our personal lives, scientists and ethicists are viewing things with a much wider lens.  This presentation will introduce some key issues that arise for clinicians and public health experts in the context of a global pandemic, including allocation of critical care resources and vaccines, as well as personal responsibility for public health.
