Short Stories for our Time II: A Zoom Discussion Group - Six-week course. Register View Cart

An apple on top of some text books.
"When you read a short story, you come out a little more aware and a little more in love with the world around you." George Saunders

We seek to find those new awarenesses, and maybe even lighten the dark days, with short stories. We'll discuss a dozen or so stories, which you'll read prior to class (we'll send them as links or PDFs). We’ll look for uplift and resilience, while recognizing that literature reflects life, and life is often less than perfect, especially now.

We’ve limited the class size to 18 so that there will be space for everyone to speak; we want this to be a genuine discussion. While we three all have long experience with literature, none of us is an expert on these stories. We’ll do what book clubs do: learn together.

Thursdays from 4:00-5:00 pm, from Jan. 7 through Feb. 11, 2021. (PVSC members get first option.)
Register online or make Sheila Krautkremer aware that you are mailing a check for the course, at 207-659-1359, or email her:
